Virgina Beach Letterboxing Pirate?
More Letterboxes go missing in VA Beach...
About six months ago, I had my first report of a missing box planted by me in First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach ("Man in a Box"). It had been replaced as found, but the stamp was missing. Back in November, my good bud Koyote went down there on a romantic getaway with his wife, and replaced the stamp and all its contents for me. Now I am notified by "meechleigh", whom boxes and reside down there, that another of my boxes has gone missing (2 sisters). She had found it in the summer, but kinda went to check on it, and found it completely gone. After talking to her futher she mentioned that other boxes have gone missing down there recently at a higher rate than normal. This is alarming as, the "2 sisters" letterbox was carved and planted with my 2 daughters, and were looking foward to looking at the logbook during the upcoming spring. I hope this is not the case of vandals, and validates my reson for creating this page for my box plants this year. Many have stopped posting on letterboxing.org, and I might do the same.
Pictured above, you see the great marshlands in First landing State Park. Some of the coolest, creepest marshes, and tons of trails that im sure to fill with boxes this spring.
